505 Days: Omer Shem Tov’s Journey from Captivity to Freedom

This is a story far beyond survival. It is a story of faith, optimism and purpose in the face of unimaginable darkness. Omer’s quiet strength and unwavering optimism have moved audiences around the world, and we are honored to host him here in Sarasota for a night of reflection, connection, and inspiration.

Join us for an unforgettable and deeply moving evening as Omer Shem Tov shares his story of survival after being held hostage by Hamas for 505 harrowing days.

Back in April 2024, when Omer was still in Gaza, a small grassroots committee of friends came together out of love and hope to bring Omer’s cousin, Leat Corinne Unger, to share his story with the Sarasota community. We gathered to listen, to pray, and to hold space for Omer from afar.

Today, by nothing short of a miracle, Omer is finally home. It is with overflowing gratitude and pride that this same committee now welcomes Omer himself to Sarasota. What began as a circle of friends has grown into a community ready to hear directly from him, to celebrate his return, and to continue standing together in hope and solidarity.
